Melinda Moote Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Melinda Moote at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton on January 16, 2023. Melinda had been battling TTP and was in remission for the past two years. An unexpected recurrence was too much for Melinda to bear.

Predeceased by her mother, Monica Moote, Melinda is survived by her amazing partner Tyler Baird, father, Ron Moote, sisters Elena, Mandey (Colin Phillips), Amie (Chris Ronbeck), Holly (Joana) and brothers Chad (Tara) and Grant (Sarah). Melinda was and always will be the favourite aunt to nephews Luke, Adam, Nolan, Emery, Brayden, Gavin, Grayson, and niece Flora as well as pet 'mum' to Lucy. Melinda had a second loving family in her in-laws, Lori Baird (Carey Murray), Cory Murray (Alex), Michelle Nicholson (Joe), Kayla Hu (Will), and children Vienna, Liam, Connor, Elliott, and Adeline.

Melinda was the best of us. Not just the best of us but the best that humanity has to offer. Melinda made everyone feel special - she was the sunshine in every room. She lived a life of generosity, patience and love. She believed the most in everyone and was so incredibly thoughtful. If you asked for help, Melinda would always say, "most definitely." She loved being around kids, camping in Tobermory, travelling, road trips, and just being with people she loved. She loved her work as a recreation therapist, helping adults with special needs and was recently looking forward to getting back to work when she had a relapse. Melinda never let us down, and she gave right until the end and still found humour on her last day. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to L'arche Hamilton. Her beautiful smile, her crazy sense of humour and all the love and laughter that she brought into the world is missed.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 27th from 11am-1pm at L.G. Wallace Funeral Home (151 Ottawa St N, Hamilton). Memorial service to be held in the Chapel at 1pm. Burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens to follow after the service.

Melinda was the life of every party. She brought sunshine and rainbows even on the rainiest days. It would be her wish that everyone wears colours to her service.

Hello Beautiful Soul, I cannot believe I am writing this on some wall I wish I could text you and you would respond. Your too beautiful to leave this earth so young. Its a tragedy. I only find relief that your in a better place now reunited with your mom. Tell her I say hi. Your legacy here will never be forgotten. You touched so many lives. I will always cherish the memories growing up with you. So adventurous and brave. There is always a spot for you in Tobermory. I will forever search for you there. In the forest, in the lake, down the gravel road that no one has been down before. I know I will find you there. I will see you there soon. May you rest in paradise you beautiful soul.

I remember her as the cute, funny, warm little girl who was everyone's favorite...that she continued to live her life that way was a blessing to all who knew her. The news saddens me and my heart goes out to the family.
