Mel and I met in elementary school, he came over to our house and immediately became a part of our family.
Great guy,easy-going always willing to help out, everyone loved Mel.
We hung out together, worked at odd jobs together it was great.
If Mel wasn't hanging out ith me he was with one if my brother's or sisters or even my mom.
He was definitely family, Mel was a brother.
He will be missed by all!
Rest in peace.

I am so sorry for the loss of a great guy. Mel was a part of our family for so long, I actually can’t remember life before he came into it. I was a child way back then. He was definitely like one of our brothers.
The last time I saw him, I reached up and gave him a great big hug and said “ When I look at you , I feel like I’m back home again. Like a kid , In a nice safe space.” That’s how he always made me feel. Like returning home after a long trip. His smile was a hug on it’s own. ❤ Mel will always be one of us .. one of our brothers. ❤❤
Sending a ton of love to all of you. ❤❤

My family has known Mel for at least 40 years, with our brothers and sisters Mel was like another brother. Fly high Mel and I will see you when I get there! R.I.P❤

Mel was about 2 when we moved into the neighbourhood. He grew up with my children. We took him camping with us a few times. Since 2005 he has been a great neighbour to me. Shovelled my snow every winter. He was loved by our neighbours. We will mis him. RIP Mel.
