Michael BYARD Obituary

It is with laden hearts that we must bid a fond farewell to our beloved Michael Byard Sr. Michael was born in Pinxton Notts, England on February 19, 1951 and taken suddenly from us on December 15, 2021.
Predeceased by his mother Mary (Atherton) and father John Byard.
Sadly missed but not forgotten by his loving wife Anita (Riedke), stepson Aaron Schieve, daughter Melonie Wilson and son Michael Byard Jr. He will be forever missed by his siblings Hazel Byard, Barbara Byard, Richard (Beverly) Byard, Grant (Hilery) Byard and Elizabeth Byard. His quick wit and teasing nature will be missed by his five grandchildren, one great-grandson Jack, numerous nieces and nephews, great-niece Sienna, great-nephew Ashton Byard, his mother-in-law Benita Riedke and his brothers-in-law Arthur Riedke (Helen) and Robert Riedke. Michael immigrated to Canada in 1969 and settled in Burlington, Ontario. A Master Plumber by trade, he worked at Dofasco in Hamilton venturing off to use his skills and create jobs in the community such as English Rose, the English Handyman, Golf Stuff and Pelican Pools Store. Finding his passion in the outdoors building pools, Michael helped make people's dreams a reality. Pelican Landscaping and Pools has been his life for over 40 years. His clients were like friends and family. His loves were golf, fishing, collecting beach glass, hiking, camping, traveling, biking and people. His dignified manner, kindness and compassion will be missed by everyone's life he touched. Special thanks to the EMT's, Doctors and Nurses at the Welland Hospital. Your efforts, kindness and compassion were greatly appreciated.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. There will be a gathering to celebrate his life at a later time.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
