Our daughter Jasmine says Mike was the best teacher she ever had. What a creative and fine person he was and such a gentle soul. God bless his soul.

My sister Sue (Town) Roszell and I were very sad to hear of Michael's passing. We first knew him as kids in Ancaster. The Jeffersons were our next-door neighbours on Lloyminn Avenue. Mary was our beloved babysitter with Michael a very occasional replacement. Barb came to our house from lunch as their mom was working as a teacher in those days - obviously a family tradition! Everyone became a teacher.
Our family left Ancaster in 1966, but I returned to live in Hamilton in 1989 when our kids were young. Lo and behold, our new next-door Hamilton neighbours were Al and Lorraine Stacey. What a coincidence. Al was a good friend of Mike's. The Staceys lived just behind us on Colleen Crescent. So this reconnected us with the Jefferson family. We had a Christmas gathering once or twice at our place. And I occasionally bumped in to Mike at the McMaster talks.
He was a man of many interests - and shared with my husband Richard and I, and with Al Stacey, a great love of the outdoors.
Sue and I were planning to come to the funeral, but now are not able to make it. We just want to send our sympathy to Jean and the whole extended family.
Sincerely,
Carol Town and Sue (Town) Roszell
