Michael Ricci Obituary

Peacefully at Jurvinski Hospital our beloved Michael passed away from a short battle with cancer leaving us all heartbroken. Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe Ricci and Angelina Ricci (nee Ceccanese) and sister Rosemarie Zellin. Survived by his son Gabe Preboy, niece and nephew Laura and Chris Raymond, cousin Carlo Bevilacqua who were all dearly loved by Mike. Thanks to Larry and Brent of the musicians union local 293 for all of their help and wonderful praises. Mike was an amazing musician with his trio consisting of Jimmy Howard, Ron Palangio and Alex Karcza with whom he played beautiful music for over 30 years. Many thanks to the ICU department for the wonderful care he received, especially Catherine and Nicole who helped us at the end. Mike had many friends but especially Tony Capra who they loved eachother as brothers. My children loved Mike like a stepfather.

Mike, you will always be in my heart and mind walking beside me. I am blessed to hae had a wonderful man like you in my life. I will love you forever.

Mike and his trio played beautifully and brought great joy to the members at Hamilton Public Library's Central Library. He was a joy to watch. Kate Morrison

Mike was indeed an extraordinary man, a gentle giant as he was called, a person of great sensitivity, kindness and exceptional abilities. He knew music as a master, and ran like a gazelle. We will miss his presence on earth, but those of us who knew him well are still deeply connected to his essence, he´ll live forever in our hearts. Sending deep condolences to his family, and to Susan and family, who walked so closely with him in recent years. There are so many who benefitted deeply from Mike´s life, due to his outstanding character. I am one of those who are truly blessed. So glad you are flying free now, Mike. Play on.

Our sympathies go out to Mike´s family, and to our Mom , Susan Mougenot, who is devastated by Mike´s passing. We will always remember his smile and his wonderful sense of humor.
