Michael Thompson Obituary
After a long battle with diabetes, Michael Dale Thompson passed away peacefully at West Lincoln Memorial hospital in his 68th year with his family by his side.
Michael was born in Hamilton, Ontario to Doreen and Walter Thompson March 3, 1955. Michael loved collecting coins and anything "Coca Cola" . Most of all, Michael enjoyed spending time with family and watching old western movies.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Beverly and their children, Beverley and her husband Kevin Cherrington, Debbie and her husband Mike Mondor and son Shaun. Grandfather to Christopher, Jeremy, Mitchell and Jessica. Great-Grandfather to Haiden, Brooke, Colton and Dean. Predeceased by his parents Doreen & Walter and brother Robert.
Michael fought his battle against Diabetes for over 15 years. Despite spending much of that time in and out of the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his entire journey, he cracked jokes with his grown children and made silly faces with his grand and great grand children. Michael had a great ability to make others smile an his sense of humor will be missed.
The family would like to thank the numerous doctors, nurses and staff at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby for going above and beyond to ensure Michael was comfortable.
As per Michael's wishes, a private ceremony will be held with a celebration of life to follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers- donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association
