After a full, active and challenging life, Michele Ann Gibson passed away unexpectedly at age 51. A strong, determined and inspiring young woman, Michele ploughed her way through life, overcoming the odds, fighting off illnesses, healing from surgeries, and finding humour in the strangest places. She adored her sister, enjoyed many friends including Jenn and Michael, grinned through wheelchair rides along the lakeshore, kept beat to loud rock music, had no fear of any large or small animal, wolfed down chocolate and butter tarts, and happily floated in any lake or pool. Michele enriched our lives beyond measure with her indomitable spirit and zest for life.
Left to mourn her loss are her sister, Christine, and mom, Ginny, and her father, James Gibson, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as all those whose lives she touched along her journey.
We are eternally grateful for the loving care provided by her second family, the staff of Community Living - Grimsby, Lincoln, and West Lincoln. Thanks, too, to Dr. Ireland for 30 years of dedicated medical care and support. For those who wish, donations in Michele's honour may be made to Community Living - G., L., and W. L., P.O.
