Lorraine Vagnoni Obituary

It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and nonna in her 90th year. Lorraine passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, March 26th, 2022. Cherished wife of Dino Vagnoni for 67 years. Loving mother to Sue (Ken) Mascola, Donna (Randy) Newstead, Lisa (Enio) Di Nardo. Beloved Nonna of Andrea, Christopher (Rachel), Amanda (Brad), Lucas (Kelsey), Matthew (Lianne). Predeceased by her parents Guido and Enrica Marini, sister Anne Galdenzi and brother Mel Marini. Cherished sister to Eva Marranca and Lillian MacFarlane. Sister in-law to Jean Marini, Joanne (Paul) Allingham and Mary Miles. Lorraine will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine's greatest and most cherished love was her family and especially her "man" and soulmate husband Dino. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family which was her pride and joy. She loved cooking, holidays, gardening, and her beloved Tiger Cats. She thrived on teaching her grandkids her special recipes such as her stuffed olives and homemade pasta. She inspired us all with her love of family and life long friendships from childhood. Her love of cooking transcends from her early days when she catered to the Italian community and the St. Anthony's spaghetti suppers with her mother by her side. She was also an active member of the St. Eugene's CWL for many years. Lorraine's big heart, courage, strength and quick wit will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Special thanks to Ridgeview Long Term Care Home for their outstanding care during Lorraine's short stay there.
Visitation at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL HOME, 43 Barton St. E. Hamilton on Tuesday March 29 from 2 pm - 8 pm with Vigil prayers at 2:30 pm (Masking would be appreciated by the family). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene's Parish (232 Queenston Road) in Hamilton on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 10 am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
