Norman Cameron Obituary

It is with deep sadness we must announce the death of Norman Kenneth Cameron early in the morning on January 7th. Norm died peacefully at home in his sleep, having been tenderly cared for by his wife of 64 years, Marlene. He was a loving and caring father to sons Stephen, Kenneth and Norman and their wives Michelle, Jennifer and Karen, and his grandchildren Andrew, Jane, Nicholas, Lizzie, and Gwendolyn. He was predeceased by sisters (his "girlies") Ruth (Maurice Wade), Jean (Fred Booth), and Barbara (Ted Walker), and is deeply missed by his bother-in-law Barry Tait (wife Ariane and son Cameron). He also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews. Born in Hamilton on November 12, 1934, he was the son of Kenneth and Mabel Cameron. Norm worked as a journeyman electrician for over 50 years and was a member of the IBEW. He was a Master Mason and twice master of The Lodge of Strict Observance. He loved to sing in his church choirs, with the Albertones, and with the Scottish Rite Choir. A special joy for him was the fellowship of preparing Out of the Cold Meals for several years. He left the world a better place because he lived. Well done, good and faithful servant. A private family service will be held. It will be live streamed at 11:00 a.m. on January 12th through stpaulsdundas.com and available on the website thereafter. A celebration of Norm's life will be held hopefully in the Spring. Donations to The Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation Learning Centre for Hamilton or St. Paul's United Church in Dundas would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
