Norman WELLS Obituary

1933-2023

We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Norman Wells in his 90th year on February 24, 2023, at Joseph Brant Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. Norm was predeceased by his parents Walter and Pearl Wells and by his brother Dr. Franklin Wells of Brantford, where Norm was born and raised. Family meant the world to Norm. He was a loving husband to Jackie for 37 years. A cherished father to Susan Bussey (Harry), Mark Wells (Sara), Scott Wells (Margaret), Graham Wells (Apple), and stepfather to Lisa Neale (Bert). He was the proud and precious Papa to Sean Dyer (Elissa), Leanna Manzine (Dan), Ryan Wells, Paul Wells, Lauren Benini (Fabio), Kathryn Stewart (Christopher), Layne Wells, Lily Wells, Owen Wells, and Chloe Neale; and his "Greats" - Cassie, Cayden, Tegan, Gia, Giacomo, and Luca. Fondly remembered by his nephew Bruce Wells. He was the most treasured "fur father" to his precious Bichon, Napoleon.
Norm was a dedicated entrepreneur and pioneer of the photofinishing industry throughout Canada with international affiliations. His vision and direction as the owner of Colortron Photo Services created bonds of friendship and respect for his never-ending leadership, fairness, and humour. Norm was a man of great ability, and his sincerity was a feature that always shone through.
During his retirement, Norm and Jackie (NORJAC), traveled the world and enjoyed many winters boating and golfing in Florida. Life together was fun and full of adventures. Their favourite song was "Could I Have This Dance (for the rest of my life)".
Norm was a model train enthusiast and a member of the Burlington Model Railway Club. He spent several years building an awe-inspiring exhibit, "Four Seasons of Small-Town Life", which he eventually donated to the Royal Botanical Gardens, where it was a highlight of the Christmas season. Norm was a 30-year member of East Plains United Church, a 50-plus-year Freemason of Brant Lodge #45, and a 42-year member of the Burlington Golf and Country Club.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Norm will be honoured at EAST PLAINS UNITED CHURCH, 375 Plains Road East, BURLINGTON (905-634-5562) on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at The BURLINGTON GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB, 422 North Shore Blvd E, BURLINGTON (905-634-7726) at 12:30 p.m. For online condolences please visit Norman's Tribute page at www.smithsfh.com.
