WHALEN, Olga Alice (nee Kuczer) Surrounded by her loving family at the Sakura House Hospice, Woodstock on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, after a short battle with cancer, in her 82nd year. Cherished wife of 63+ years to Roy Whalen of Simcoe. Loving mother of Michael Whalen (Dale) of Barry's Bay, Sue Jackson (Bob) of Burlington, Deb Whalen (Pete) of Simcoe, Dan Whalen of Port Sydney and Cathy Oakes (Paul) of Ottawa. Cherished grandmother and great-grandmother of Erin-Leah (Jason), their sons Colter and Griffin; Laura (Adam), their daughters Charlotte and Sophie; Kayla, Ethan, Alexander, Emily and Jacob. Olga was a go-getter who loved to travel and had been to every continent except Antarctica. She loved to garden, shop and visit casinos to play the slots. Friends are invited to share their memories of Olga with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St., North Simcoe for visitation on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 211 Union St., Simcoe on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Lucio Couto as celebrant. Refreshments will be served in the parish centre immediately following mass. Private interment of ashes: Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Burlington at a later date.
