Orti Nello FABELLO

FABELLO, Orti Nello February 2, 1938 - September 24, 2019 Surrounded by his family, and now in the arms of the Lord, Orti, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, in his 81st year, at Hamilton General Hospital. Beloved and cherished husband of Claudette (nee Demers), they shared 58 years of marriage, making beautiful and cherished memories with music and dancing as an integral part of their lives. Family was the centre of Orti's life. Most caring and loved father of Claudia (Tom) Sweeney and Glenn (Anastasia) Fabello that exhibited relentless strength, courage and commitment to whatever he undertook. A very cherished Nonno to Liam and Chantal Sweeney, he was very proud of their accomplishments and an irreplaceable part of their lives. Predeceased by his father and mother, Giovanni and Gioconda Fabello, and sister, Elsa (Rino) Maragno. Dear brother to Nellia (late Ellio) Picco and brother Edward (late Margaret) Fabello. Orti was a talented saxophone player that played in a band both in Hamilton and in surrounding town of Timmins. An avid train enthusiast as well, he was able to enjoy trains while employed with the Ontario Northland Railroad then later with Stelco as a Track Foreman for 37 years. Orti enjoyed socializing with people, and during his retirement, he worked for various funeral homes as a pallbearer and met many lovely individuals. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Zhang, Dr. Ainsworth and all the staff of the Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Ward at Hamilton General Hospital. We are very grateful and appreciative of the continuous care and gentleness exhibited. Orti was in great hands with this team. Celebration of Life at Bay Gardens Funeral Home , 1010 Botanical Drive, BURLINGTON on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. followed by Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to be at Bayview Cemetery. According to Orti's wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers and for those who wish, memorial donations can be made to the Hamilton General Hospital Foundation.
