Paul Djonovich Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Paul Djonovich, in his 55th year. Loving husband of Trina Brendon Djonovich, proud father of Rya and Burk, cherished son of Nikola and Sheila (deceased) Djonovich, son-in-law to Joan and Walt (deceased) Brendon, brother to Laura (Steve) Luneberg, Lisa (Toby) Beam, brother-in-law to David (Brenda) Brendon, Carolyn Brendon (Rob Alexander), Julie (Michael) Dembe, dedicated uncle to Kerala Brendon, William, and Madeleine Alexander, Tovah, Noah, Jonah, and Elijah Dembe, Jacob and Darren Luneberg, Megan, and Trevor Beam. Paul will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Paul lived for his family, friends, and clients, and valued the experiences with them all. Nearest to his heart were his wife of 21 years (Trina), and their children (Rya 19 & Burk 16), who were treasured dearly. Paul was a proud Canadian who seldom missed watching the World Juniors International Hockey each year. As he watched, he scouted for potential future draft picks that could be additions to his favourite NHL club, the Chicago Blackhawks. Another great source of pride for Paul was coaching his children's various sports. Among his favourite times was when the head coach was away for practice, as Paul could then run a full ice scrimmage where he too could participate in play. Paul also enjoyed his memorabilia, with coins, hockey cards, and old wood boxes being among his favourites. Paul and Trina welcomed friends and family to their Belwood Lake Cottage where they shared many great memories together. While at the cottage Paul would design and host chipping competitions, bocci tournaments, or various other types of sporting festivities in the afternoon, followed by a night-time fire social. Paul took the well-being of his clients very personally and wanted to bring them the best security and comfort he could provide. He also valued those in the industry that supported his efforts and personal development along the way. Paul will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of his company. Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at Tansley Woods Community Centre-Community Room #1-1996 Itabashi Way, Burlington, ON L7M 4J8 (905) 332-1996 on Sunday, June 19, 2022, from 3:30-7:30 p.m. There will be a celebration of Paul's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences and notes of sympathy may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca

Trina, Rya, Burk and family.
Our most sincere and deeply felt condolences for your loss. I worked alongside Paul for a couple of years and he became my Sun Life products advisor when I left the company. Paul was smart, had a good understanding of the financial business in general and Sun Life products in particular. But more importantly, he was a great individual, kind, generous and always willing to help with questions.
I will miss our conversations about family, sports, financial markets, stocks, and just about any other topic.
May all the happy memories of him help sooth the pain of such untimely loss.
Carlos and family.

I'm so sorry to hear the passing of Paul. I first met Paul in grade 8, just before we started high school together, and lived on the same street, Belgrave Ct. We played hockey and golf together for many years and for a short period of time I worked at his father's shop when I was living in Toronto.

A number of years ago, one of Paul's children was in my sister's class, Paul had gone for a parent/teacher interview and somehow had connected the dots. We spoke shortly afterwards, but we were never able to get together.
My condolences to his family during this difficult time.

I don't even know where to start.
After working along side Paul for the last 8 years, he not only was the most supportive mentor to me but became someone I considered a dear friend. Over the years I got to know his beautiful wife Trina and their amazing children Rya & Burk who warmly welcomed me everytime I came to their home to work with Paul.
Paul was so many things; kind, funny, considerate, supportive, humble, generous and knowledgeable to say a few.
He would often stray from work topics to proudly talk about his children's accomplishments. His family was his life.
He treated my family with the greatest respect, always thinking of my children whenever he came by and bringing Timbits or a small token to show he cared and was thinking of them.
His loss will leave a forever void in my life.
I miss our multiple daily chats.
I miss his Seinfeld references and how he'd insist on changing my music playlist for his.
I miss bugging him everyday for something work related.
Paul taught me so many things over the years, both professionally and personally and I'm forever grateful for the time I had with him. I am a better person for knowing him.
Keeping Trina, Rya, Burk, his family, friends and clients in my thoughts, prayers and heart.

I have many fond memories of Paul and I as rookie Financial Advisors together. He had a generous soul and was always eager to help a client and colleague alike. We worked together for 13 years and shared many laughs. Paul had a wonderfully kind sense of humour, that was never at the expense of anyone. He took great pride in being both good to and good for the people that he cared about. His pride and joy was his family. I´m proud to have called him a friend - Paul will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with Trina, Rya and Burk at this difficult time.

I meet Paul 15 years ago, I had the pleasure of working with @ Sun Life. I admired his kindness and quirky jokes in the office, always smiling. When our advisor left the business, I personally asked Paul to take our family as he clients, we were more then clients to him, we were friends. The eve before we moved from Hamilton, Paul made the trip up to our home, in the snow to drop off a gift for our new home, This!! and many things more little things is what Paul was, thoughtful. Trina, Rya, Burk our deepest sympathies to you and your family, the world has lost a wonderful man. He will be missed by so many.
