HOITING, Peter In the Lord's time, He called to Himself, His child, Peter Hoiting on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, at the age of 90. Predeceased by his first wife of 41 years, Hendrika (nee Rusthoven) in 1993. Peter found love again with his beloved wife Tena (nee Dykxhoorn) of 24 years. Loving father of Cobi and John Postma, Rita and John Ashley, Sid and June Hoiting and step-children Henny and Fred Vreken, Judy and Al Brouwer, Jack and Amy Dykxhoorn, Lucy Bloemsma, Brenda Circharo, Marilyn Serode, Renee and Ken Reinsch, Darlene and Anthony Desalvatore, Marlene and Jerry Baxley and Jeff Dykxhoorn and their families including 37 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of sisters Lies DeVries (the late Jaap), Betty Horinga (the late Henk) and Anne Evers (Bernard). Predeceased by siblings Martha Visser (the late Fedde), Klaas Hoiting (the late Johanna). Reint Hoiting (Willy) and Siep Hoiting (Dini Vandermeer (Don). Peter will be fondly remembered for his love of life, his faithful volunteering in Shalom, his woodworking and his music. A special thank-you to the doctors and nurses at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital for their excellent care of Peter. Visitation will be held at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church, 290 Main Street East, Grimsby, on Sunday, September 22, 2019, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. where a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Private interment at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Shalom Manor would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
