Pietro MEMMOLO

Peacefully and with a smile on his face, surrounded by his admiring family on January 12, 2023, at the age of 93. Pietro was called to be reunited with his parents Pasquale & Rosina Memmolo, brothers, sister, and in-laws into the eternal kingdom. Loving, doting husband of Rosaria Memmolo for 66 years, cherished mentor and father of Maria Memmolo, Angelo Memmolo, his wife (Amanda Memmolo) and adored Nonno, Ashley Memmolo, Cortney Memmolo (Junior Martinez) & Sadey Memmolo. Dear brother of Lucia Vecchi and brother-in-law of Concetta Memmolo, Teresa Memmolo, Filomena Memmolo, Girolamo Guarino, Mirella & Michele Carducci and Rita Guarino of both Canada and Italy. Predeceased by the late brothers, brothers-in-law, sister, and sisters-in-law; Domenico Memmolo, Luigi Memmolo, Mario & Rosa Memmolo, Genesio & Maria Rosina Memmolo, Pasquale Vecchi, Fedele Memmolo, Anna & Paulo Bozzo, Vincenzo Guarino and Angelo Guarino. Pietro's' smile, humour and fun-loving personality will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends, associates, and family, as well as anyone who had the pleasure to meet him. With a special appreciation of thanks to Pasquale Memmolo (oldest nephew), Zio Michele Carducci (brother-in-law) and Aunt Maria (daughter) for all the care, comfort, support, love, and happiness during his health struggles. Pietro's' health journey included several different hospitals; rehabilitation stays and connections. He always said he was being treated like a celebrity in a hotel. Thank you for all the comfort and care. Also, great appreciation to Dr Juta (GP)/team, the many support workers, PSW's & nurses who showed day to day genuine compassion & care of his well-being. Their ongoing presences, assistance & concerns had his needs accommodated while feeling comfortably at peace. A tremendous gratitude to the St. Joe's 8th floor Juravinski Tower Team - you all showed empathy to the situation with your thought-out diligence. You demonstrated support to Pietro, his illness & his family. You respectfully accommodated our wishes for his fight despite the odds. Lastly, a special thanks to Dr. Pogue (who followed Pietro from the emergency department to the 8th floor), Janine (RN) & Lori (CRN). Promettiamo che non ci saranno più hotel, poiché non sei mai stato un peso per noi come avremmo potuto solo sperare per molti altri anni. Ora sei in pace, ti amiamo immensamente e fino a quando non ti rivedremo. Grazie Nonno per aver reso tutti noi persone migliori, perché ci manchi già tristemente e sappi che non sarai mai dimenticato. Che Dio ti benedica. We promise there are no more hotels, as you were never a burden to us as we could have only hoped for many more years. You are now at peace; we love you immensely and until we see you again. Thank you Nonno for making us all better individuals as you are already sadly missed and please know you will never be forgotten. May God bless you. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Tuesday, January 17th from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 20 Idlewood Avenue, Hamilton on Wednesday, January 18th at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind), Canadian Council for the Blind & The Lion's Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs would be appreciated.
