Ralph COLE Obituary

Only child born in 1936 to Emily May and Sydney Frank. Attended Westdale High School where he met and then married, Ivy Isabel (nee Scott) in 1958 (deceased May 16, 2018). Truly blessed in their relationship for just shy of 60 years. They did everything together, but their family was their true obsession. Three children were raised, Mike (Pat), Tom (Dana) and Susan (Doug). Ken was a very involved grandfather to ten and great-grandfather to nineteen. Ken was a very proud and dedicated fire fighter in Hamilton. His hobbies and passions included Warplane Heritage Museum, minor hockey. He was a plus 50-year member with the Masonic Lodge and a member at St. Andrew's Lodge # 62 A.F. & A.M., GRC in Caledonia, his greatest pride were the members of the Shriner's of Niagara/Hamilton and the Shrine Hospitals. Dad had so many great friends that we'd be amiss to name them all but he shared a true love and bond with Gillian Horn, Jake Leask, Barb Nixon and Doug Holmes. Unfortunately, cancer won the life battle on April 3, 2023, while resting at the Bob Kemp Hospice. We cannot express enough thanks to the amazing staff at this wonderful facility. Please consider supporting the Niagara Shriner's (Shriner's Children's Hospital), the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or St John's Anglican Church in lieu of floral gifts. As per Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home ANCASTER CHAPEL 378 Wilson St. E., Ancaster, Ont. from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. The Funeral Service will be held at ST. JOHN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH 272 Wilson St. E., Ancaster, Ont. at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. Ken and Isabel lived in Twentyplace when I did and he was such a gentleman. Always enjoyed our talks when he and Stirling were out for their walks. So sorry for your loss.

We have known Ken and Isabel for many years through Church and neighbors. We were on a wonderful trip to Alaska with them. They are both gone now and will be sadly missed as dear friends. Our deepest condolences to the family

I worked with Ken for a number of years on the Hamilton Fire Department and enjoyed speaking to him inside Twenty Place. I thank him for all the work he did for the Hamilton Fire Department Pensioners Association and for the great talks we had on his porch. He has always been such a strong and positive person - we shall miss him. Our condolences go out to all the family.
