Richard Leonard Davis

Passed away peacefully at his home in Vineland, on Friday, August 12, 2022, at the age of 88. Beloved husband for 56 years of the late Janet (nee Lee) Davis (2018). Loved father of Lee Davis (Tony Kutlesa) and Michelle Davis (Danny Talic). Cherished grandpa of Abigail and Harris. Dear brother of the late Philip Davis (Donna) and Susanne Johnston. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Rick was a proud and dedicated educator. He started his career at Central Peel in Brampton in 1960. In 1968, he moved to Wentworth County Board of Education as Vice Principal and later as Principal serving for 25 years. As an administrator, Rick supported and promoted student involvement, regardless of the activity ... from drama presentations to sporting events. His presence was an educational lighthouse, guiding students in the right direction in order to be successful. Behind his stoic look was a very compassionate, and nurturing person of great integrity. His students certainly benefited from his leadership and he was always known to be firm but fair. Rick spent countless hours advocating for the students and families as a Lincoln County Board of Education Trustee for almost 20 years. In retirement, Rick enjoyed woodworking and loved nothing more than spending time with his family, friends, and neighbours and having a beer on the front porch of his Governor's Road home in Grimsby. Special thanks to Dr. El-Houssein, Dad's palliative care team, and the staff at The Orchards in Vineland for all their care and support.
