On May 6, 2021 at the age of 70, Robert (Bob) Marentette said goodbye to this life on Earth surrounded by loved ones at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton. Predeceased by parents Roy (1990), Alice (1997), brother Alvin (2010), sister Sandy (1990). Bob was the proud and loving father of Jeff (Melissa), Tony (Christine). Uncle of Solange Ginnasio (Morris), Deb LaMantia. Loving grandpa to Izzy, Jordon and Aliya. Great Uncle Bob of Elle, Eve and Trent who adored their G.U.B. Bob will live on in heaven as our guardian angel.
Bob enjoyed a rewarding career in security at The Royal Ontario Museum, Ontario Science Center and retired in 2020 from The Art Gallery of Hamilton as Director of Operations.
Bob cherished his time with his sons and his love of fishing in his happy place on Manitoulin Island (home away from home) and visiting frequently with his family in Windsor. Art, music, food and the collection of sailboats were some of his many passions. Bob will be fondly remembered for his playful wit and kind smile. Special thank you Dr. Juergens and team, Dr. Koschi and especially nurse Olivia of C4 Juravinski Hospital.
