It is with profound sadness that we announce the very sudden passing of our beloved husband and father, Robert. Born in Vittorio Venato, Italy, Robert immigrated with his father, Haroldo (predeceased), mother Maria (nee Possa, predeceased) and older brother Peter (predeceased). He grew up in Guelph, Collingwood, Hamilton, finally settling in Burlington, Ontario. After graduating from Waterloo Lutheran University, he spent his working years in the steel industry (sales). Upon his retirement in 2017, Robert loved to watch his classic Star Treks & various cooking shows, work with his plants and dote upon his little feline 'fur buddies' Stitch and Loki. He is survived by his wife and forever soul-mate, Bonnie-Lee, daughter and 'partner in crime' Stephanie, dear brother Albert (Valerie), brother Augustino (Linda), his niece Vanessa and nephew Matthew. Our family extends our heartfelt gratitude to all the emergency services, the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital & a special thank-you to the nurses (Deanna, Amy & Delia) in the palliative care ward who ensured Robert's final days were peaceful and pain free. Cremation has taken place. If desired, contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Robert's memory would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333. 'Paz' as he was so fondly known by his friends and family will forever remain in our hearts and memories as a bright light who would always lighten even the bleakest times with his razor wit, his one-of-a-kind "Robertisims' and contagious smile.
