Robert Summers-Gill Obituary

Passed away December 10, 2022, in Hamilton, Ontario, just short of his 93rd birthday. He was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan to Herbert Reginald Howell and Margaret 'Peggy' Summers-Gill. He was predeceased by his sister Evelyn (Harry), brother John Reginald (Bernice), great niece Samantha and long time friends Phil and Judit. He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Bob (Joan), Bill (Donalda), Don (Carol), Ron (Kay), Wendy (Ed), Diane (Murray) and James, many great and great-grand nieces and nephews, cousins in England and his 'adopted' nieces, Andrea and Barb. He will be sadly missed by the staff at Caroline Place, his special caregivers and the Arts communities of Hamilton, Toronto and Stratford.
Robert attended high school at City Park Collegiate in Saskatoon and received his BA and MA from the University of Saskatchewan and his Ph.D. from Berkeley University in California. He joined McMaster University, Department of Physics in 1956 and was there for thirty-three years.
