Roland Lejambe Obituary

With sadness, our family announces the unexpected passing of cherished husband and father Roland in his 89th year. He leaves behind the "Love of his Life", his dear wife Rosemary. Amazing dad to their 4 children; Roland Jr (Kim), Russell (Lisa), Raymond (Nancy), and Gina (Darrell).
Cherished Nonno to his 7 grandchildren: Christopher, Steven, Mariah, Cole, Daniel, Keira, and Cade.
Born in Timmins, Ontario on August 18, 1933 to Walter and Marie. Predeceased by his siblings: Walter Jr., Toni, Pete, Terry, and Estelle. At a young age, after the loss of his father, Marie moved the family to Hamilton. They resided in the Brightside neighbourhood where they formed lifelong friendships. In order to help support his mother and sisters, Roland "Red" began a lifetime career at Stelco.
Roland and Rose met in 1953 and were soon married in June 1955. They built their life together in the Buchanan Park area in Hamilton and raised their family on Algoma Cres. for the next 35 years.
Upon their retirement, they left Hamilton and moved north, where they started their second life together. For 32 years they have been loved and admired by the Town of
Mattawa.
He was a man of strong faith who was constantly involved in many aspects of the parish and the community. Roland was an avid reader, a lover of trains, and had several projects underway which were always near completion.
He will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him.
"No matter where you go, you will always be in our hearts". Please register online for visitation at www.baygardens .ca at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Parish 200 Albion Rd. Mount, Hamilton.
