SZAREK, Roman It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Roman Szarek on November 19, 2018 at the age of 65, peacefully at home in the comfort of his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents Stanislaw and Maria. Beloved husband to Krystyna of 37 years, devoted father to Elzbieta and Agnieszka, and father-in-law to Sebastian. Cherished grandfather (kochany dziadziu) to Olivia. Roman will be deeply missed by his brother Stanislaw, sister-in-law Janina and nieces Marlene and Jessie in Canada. Loved and remembered by his brother Wincenty (Krystyna), sister Joanna (Zenon), sister-in-law Teresa (Jozef), brothers-in-law Jozef (Maria) and Marek (Elzbieta) and many nieces and nephews in Poland and in the United States. Roman was a very loving, caring and kind hearted man, who made many sacrifices to make a better life for his family in Canada. Roman's humour and wit brought laughter to many. We will always cherish the memories we made together as a family. Roman was able to enjoy retirement for three years in which he devoted precious time to his dearest grand- daughter Olivia. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Ave. Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Prayers 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Polish Catholic Church on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
