BIENERT, Ronald Frank It is with broken hearts that the family announces Ron's passing on October 25, 2018 after a brave battle with cancer. Born in Loon Lake Saskatchewan, July 8, 1955, Ron was the beloved son of Anna (Schoepp) Bienert and (late) Frank Bienert. Dear husband of Margaret (Stickney) Bienert. Beloved father of Anna and Erin, father-in-law of Jeff Karanfil. Dear brother of Joseph Bienert, Helen Bienert and Mary Corcoran, and brother-in-law to Terry Copeck, (late) John Corcoran, Elaine and Franz Schmidt, and (late) Anne Schmidt and Gary Schmidt. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, Ron will also be deeply missed by Phil Medeiros who was like a son to him. He will also be deeply missed by several good friends and by his second family, his colleagues and friends of ProSpec Technologies Inc. Ron attended St. Thomas More College in Saskatoon, earned an M.A. in Philosophy from McMaster University, and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Toronto. He switched from the academic world to work for ProSpec Technologies, where he was a valuable employee for almost twenty years. It could be said that apart from family, Ron's most significant friendship was with his golden retriever, Shadow. They enjoyed many happy hours together, including long walks and gazing at the stars from the back porch. Ron was skilled in upholstery and carving and always had a creative project in the works. He continued to read and write in the field of philosophy until his illness made that impossible. Through to the end, his sense of humour and thoughtfulness of those close to him was a source of comfort and cheer. Ron always put his family first in everything and to them he has made all the difference. The family would like to thank the many health professionals who have helped Ron through this difficult part of his life journey. Special mention to Dr. Sharma and the Neurosurgical Team at Hamilton General Hospital, to Dr. Torres-Trejo, to Ann Marie, Tom, Ingrid and Vishwa of the Bayshore Homecare team, and to the caring staff of Emmanuel House. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 30 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King St. EAST, Dundas, ON (additional parking at the Air Force Club). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, 260 Herkimer Street, Hamilton, on Wednesday, October 31 at 11 a.m. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Reception following interment at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre. Donations to the Cancer Assistance Program, Emmanuel House or the
