Rosalina D'Angelo Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Rosalina D'Angelo (Palumbo) on July 5, 2022 at the age of 85. Rosalina was married to her true love Giuseppe, where they remained together for 66 years.
By herself, at 18 years old, Rosalina left her family home in Sante George, Roccamorice, Pescara, Italy on February 13, 1956 and immigrated by ship to Canada. Ten days later, she landed at Pier 21 in Halifax to start the next chapter of her life. With a single suitcase, she journeyed by train to Ontario, where she was later joined by her newlywed husband Giuseppe. Together, they purchased their first home on Cannon Street in Hamilton, and then moved up to the escarpment where "Rosa and Joe" lived for 57 years raising their five children, tending to their vegetable gardens, and growing roses in the front of the house.
She deeply loved her children Antonio (Linda Mittlebach), Danny (Michelle Cuming), Maria Grazia (Frank Prosperi), Carmelo (Ellen Begin) and Anna (Joe DiTrapani). She was the cherished "Nonna" to her grandchildren Michael, Joseph, Isabella, Nicole, Victoria, Cecilia, Sophia, and Stella.
Rosalina was predeceased by her parents Giovanni Palumbo and Antonietta Di Millo. She was also predeceased by her siblings Agostino (Angiolina Di Nardo), Annina (Pietro Sarnesse, predeceased), Maria, and Elvira (Giuseppe Di Pietrantonio) and survived by Luisa (Emidio D'Alfonso, predeceased), Angiolina (Tony Rosati, predeceased), Francesco (Fina D'Alfonso), Concettina (Antonio Di Pierdomenico, predeceased) and Lucia (Giovanni Scurti).
Daughter-in-law to her predeceased parents Antonio D'Angelo and Carmela Rosati. Predeceased by her brother-in-law Pasquale (Maria Parete, predeceased) and Camillo, and her sister-in-law Francesca. Survived by her sister-in-laws Angela (Giuseppe Buccella), Maria (Camillo D'Alfonso), Rosalia (Cesidio Parete), Anna (Pasquale DiGiovanni, predeceased) and her brother-in-law Donato (Anna D'Alimonte).
Rosalina's beautiful smile and love will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home (947 Rymal Road, Hamilton) on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. A memorial service celebrating Rosalina's life will be held at Bay Gardens on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. After the service, Rosalina will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens (700 Chapel Hill Road, Stoney Creek).
In memory of Rosalina, flowers can be sent to Bay Gardens Funeral Home.
