Rosemary RANKIN Obituary

March 3, 1951 - April 20, 2023

Rosemary Rankin (DeLong) passed away surrounded by her family, in the home that she had helped fill with laughter and happy memories, just as she would have hoped. Growing up with five brothers and four sisters, she had always been surrounded by family, and learned early that a life well lived is one lived with love and laughter. With her open and loving heart, inviting others in always seemed to come naturally for her. Rosemary's love extended to her brothers and sister-in-law, dozens of nephews and nieces, and countless friends. However, her deepest love was reserved for her kids and grandkids. She was so proud of her children, Tanya, Tammy (predeceased), Dan, and James, as well as her daughter-in-law Roberta, whom she loved like one of her own. And, of course, it is impossible to talk about Rosemary's life without speaking to how much she loved being a grandmother to Ben, Jacob, Lindsay, and Lucas, along with a few others who couldn't help but call her Grandma Rose because it felt right. But the true love story of Rosemary's life was her marriage to Dan Sr., which started over 52 years ago. Rosemary loved taking care of her husband, packing his lunch, raising his kids, and making him laugh. When she became ill and it was time for Dan to take care of her, he did it without hesitation or a second thought. For the last three years he was there for her day and night, just like he was there with her, by her side, holding her hand, as she left this world. A celebration of life will be arranged in the near future.

Goodbye Mom, we will do our best to keep the laughter going. Thank you for all your love.
