Ruth LEMKE Obituary

We regret to inform that the light of our life passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and favourite nurses at St Peters Hospital. Beloved wife to Don Lemke for 72 years. Wow 72 years of love, what an inspiration. Loving little sister to Betty Lowery. Ruth leaves behind her beloved children Donald Lemke (Karen), Judy Ippolito (Carmen) and Pamela Joukema (Ed).
"Nana Banana" to Mandy (Dennis), Jesse, Jacqueline (Dustin), Jamie, Jessica Cassalee, Bethany (Chris), Sal (Kathy), Caitie (Marina), Alison (Mark).

Great Grandmother to Westley, Avery, Leo, Chase, Connor & Ellie.

She leaves a hole in the heart of many loving nieces and nephews.

Ruth lived a hard life as a child but is an inspiration to many with her kindness and generosity. Her and her siblings were raised in an orphanage after their mother passed away and her father went to war. But her hard upbringing did not diminish from her character. She became an owner of her own daycare on Holton. An accomplished and published writer and on top of all that she was an amazing artist. She loved to draw portraits and paint animals. Ruth even taught computers up into her late 70s. Also, how we could we forget she is Elvis biggest fan!

Thank you so much to the staff at St peters hospital for all of your hard work and
loving care. Donations to St. Peters Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home ROBINSON CHAPEL (King Street East at Wellington) Hamilton on Thursday afternoon. In accordance with the Bereavement Authority of Ontario and due to COVID 19 restrictions, visitation is by appointment only. Ruth was one of the Moms on Holton that kept an eye on all of us kids growing up in an easier time. A very sweet and lovely person. I liked Ruth very much. My condolences to Judy, Mr Lemke and the family.
