Shirley enjoyed her gardens and received a number of Trillium Awards from the Province of Ontario. She had a special love for the birds and small animals that visited her gardens in search of the treats she would leave out.
Her family wishes to thank Dr Robert Basilij as well as Kate and the staff at McVean Lodge in Hanover, for all of the care and attention they have given to our mom. She loved her McVean home and felt safe and cared for. Our mom spoke very highly of you all.
Shirley had many friendships that lasted over the years, in particular with Gillian of Ancaster, Patty of Mildmay and her cousin Deanna.
To honour her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with more information to follow. Interment at Hanover Cemetery.
