Silvana Salvi Obituary

Born September 24, 1934 in Pacentro, L'Aquila Italia - Died March 14, 2022, Hamilton, Ontario

The light of our life has gone to rest in the arms of our Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. In her final hours at home, Mom was surrounded by the love of her life and loving husband of 66 years, Venturino Salvi. Loved to the core by her daughters and son in laws, Franca and Domenic Toscani, Mimi Stringhi, Lucy and Frank Romano, Bruna and Gino Toscani and Laura and Chris Maziarczyk. Nonna's beautiful legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren Simona (Daryl), Stefanie (Mark), Joseph (Lindsay), Sasha (Jake), Jessica (Nikola), Anthony (Sarah), Victoria (Marcus), Jilda (Matt), Savannah (Edward), Laura (Alin), Jacob and Christian. BisNonna to great grandchildren Theo, Juliet, Max, Jameson, Gwendolyn, Anja Silvana, Sofia, Georgia, Gino, Delilah, Ruby and Gianfranco, who will miss the best pizzelle in the world. Survived by her siblings Guido (late Giuseppina) Vitucci, Peppino & Lina Vitucci, Marisa (late Raffaele) Battaglini, Roberto & Pina Vitucci who've been like a son & daughter constantly by her side and Amelia (late Gino) Mirandola in Italy. Sister in laws Norma (Mark) Dumais, Ada Vitucci, Mafalda Salvi and Pia Salvi. Our dearest cousins, friends, family & Compari will truly miss her loving smile & generous gestures of love. Predeceased by her parents Francesco & Bambina Vitucci and in-laws Emidio & Lucia (Paola) Salvi and joining in heaven her brothers, sisters and in-laws Raffaele Vitucci, Lino Vitucci, Carolina & Franco Cercone, Ottavio Vitucci, Vincenzo Vitucci, Antonio Salvi, Evelina & Elio Mancini and Serafino Salvi. Mom immigrated to Hamilton in 1954 from a beautiful town Pacentro. Not far from arrival she meets this dashing young man in his convertible who sweeps her away into a life of joy happiness and contentment in raising our family. Who made the best sponge cake in town? That's our Mom but not only famous for that but her endless homemade pasta dishes and baking to soothe the souls of all she met. The table of the Salvi household was always filled with family and friends and Mom enjoyed every minute of spoiling each and every one of us especially during the ritual Sunday dinners. We'll miss seeing her enjoying her favourite show Un Posto al Sole, doing her word search, her favourite pastime ironing, playing Tombola every Christmas, l'uncinetto and sharing stories of her youth with us all. Special thanks to our angel Sabina Rossol who took the greatest care of our Mom during her time of need. In lieu of flowers please donate in her memory to the causes dear to her McMaster Sick Kids Hospital and Food4Kids Hamilton. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton (905-574-0405) on Thursday, March 17, from 5-9 p.m. Prayer vigil 8pm at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption, 63 Highway 20 Road East on Friday, March 18 at 10 a.m. Entombment Our Lady of the Angels, 681 Mud Street, Stoney Creek.

A truly sad loss to the whole family. She will always remembered by all and her fond memories will endure in your hearts. A truly loving and caring woman. When visiting with Bruna & Gina she would bake some special
cookies for me (and a plate to take home).----- " chi ti dice che ti ama piu di una mamma ti inganna"
Nostri sincere condolianze,
Joe & Angela Monachino & our entire family.

Our prayers go out to all of your families in this time of great sadness, as you mourn the loss of a very special mother. May you all find strength in all of your wonderful memories together. She will never be far from your heart. A mother´s love is alive forever, in the lessons she taught, the patience she gave, and in the hearts of the children she raised and the many grandchildren she nurtured. She and your Papa were one of a kind.

Very sorry to hear of Mrs. Salvi´s passing. My deepest condolences to the entire Salvi family. I was so incredibly fortunate to have Mrs. Salvi and your family in my life from the earliest age. Our family has very fond memories of such a caring person, and I know we´re only a tiny few amongst the many lives that she touched over the years. No doubt her wonderful memory will be celebrated for generations to come.
