STOKL, Stephen Anthony Passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital on Monday, April 16, 2018 in his 96th year. Loving husband of the late Anne Josephine (n? Morgan) for 61 years. Loving father of Barb, Steve Jr. (Lisa), Joe (Rita), and Monica (Kevin). Loving grandfather of Michael (Rachel), Colleen (Bruno), Katie (Scott), Kelly (Joel), Zack (Cassandra), Travis (Kristen), Jacob, Christina (James), Jay (Zoe), Andrew (Nicole), Kyle (Shelby), and Natalie (Jeremy). Loving great-grandfather of Emilia, Tristan, Spencer, John, Felix, Tirzah, Asher, Marlow, and Mila. Dear brother of Gloria Wilson (Donald). Dear brother-in-law of Eugene Broad, Sister Rosanne ""Kitty"" Morgan SSND, Virginia Metcalfe (good buddy, Edwin), Ann Morgan, Rose Aimee Morgan, and Caroline Morgan. Loving uncle of many close and terrific nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Anton Stokl and Barbara (n? Steiner) and stepmother Anna (n? Eisenbeil) and his brother Frank (Elizabeth) and Rose Broad and many loving brothers and sisters-in-law. Steve was born in San Martin, Romania and came to Hamilton, Ontario as a young boy. He excelled in school and baseball and enlisted in the RCAF, navigating the B-25 Mitchell for 27 missions during WWII. Upon returning, he was co-owner of Hamilton Machine Parts Ltd., then working at Stanton Pipe and Wright Abrasives. Steve enjoyed driving anywhere, for anyone, anytime. He built his cottage ""Stogan Manor"" where he relaxed with family and friends. Steve was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and long-time active parishioner of St. John the Baptist. Special thanks to Brad and Nancy Payne, Carrington Place Retirement Home in Ancaster, St. Peter's Hospital, especially Dr. Bev Hattersley and her Palliative Care Team. Very heartfelt gratitude to friends past and present; Fr. Ron Cote, Sister Nataline Bondi, the Dermody Family, Marie Valentine, John Sheehan, Casey Witteman, Peggy and Charlie Sardo, Gerry and Al McSweeney, Lorraine and Carl Stickle, Mary Halayko, David and Mavis Cherwaty, George and Jodie Gottfried, Charles and Lena Farrauto, and Ray and Elizabeth Martel. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME , 7 East Ave. S. Hamilton, ON (between King and Main) on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 128 Edgemont St. S. Hamilton, ON on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington, ON.
