Susan Madeleine Manning

1938 - 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Mom, Susan Madeleine Brett Manning, at age 83, of Burlington, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 19, 2022, in Burlington after a rapid decline in health precipitated by a fall which resulted in a fractured hip.
Susan was born in Middlesex, England to Bessie Haywood Brett and William Thomas Brett on March 11, 1938. She went to school at Drayton Manor Grammar School in Ealing, England graduating in 1955. She worked at the Nestle Factory in England and at the Holiday Inn at Heathrow Airport- where she actually met one of the Beatles! Then here in Canada as a cashier for Pharma Plus for five years in Oakville. She was a peaceful, kind, philosophical woman with simple needs like a sweet tea, a good book, usually a biography, crosswords, and chocolate, preferably Kit Kat. She also had a sharp, quick wit.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents. Susan is survived by her son Stephen Manning, her daughter Leesa Katerenchuk, her beautiful grandchildren Zander Manning, Melissa Katerenchuk and Amanda Katerenchuk. Brother Alan Brett and sister Gill Hauck.
She lives on in our hearts and in magical memories.
The family's of Manning and Katerenchuk wish to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Carnis who made her last years enjoyable, all the nurses, PSWs and directors at Hampton Terrace Care Home, and Bay Gardens Funeral Home, Burlington.
