I was a student of Taryn's, and I learned so much from her over the years I had her as a teacher. I know that I will miss having lessons and group classes with her and am so thankful for all she did.

Taryn was a strong, passionate and exceptionally generous teacher and leader. Using the Suzuki method and through her own music studio, she created individual and meaningful connections with each of her many students and their families. She had the gift of bringing out the best in all of her students; and as a parent confidant, I know how immensely proud she was of each of them.
Anyone who knew Taryn is aware that her tenacity shone brightly, both personally and as a teacher. Fiercely supportive of equal rights for all, Taryn was not afraid to condemn racism, intolerance or discrimination of any sort. Taryn was also not afraid to both express herself frankly and to learn; in additional to professional development, she continuously grew through conversation and experiences with her family, colleagues, friends and her student families. She quietly and quickly adapted her studio through this growth. In turn, she earned the highest respect from her students and their families.
As a testament to her love, Taryn continued to teach throughout her treatment. She prepared her students for and organized a holiday concert and, in early March, the Brantford ORMTA competition. Taryn also led an impromptu holiday performance with her students at the oncology unit of Brantford General Hospital, as a thank you to the wonderful nursing staff who had been assisting her with this journey.
Taryn, I will dearly miss seeing you and your studio continue to grow. I'll miss your perspective on everything. You were our General, and you were a Force. I was always happy to help; and I appreciated everything you did for Rosie and Nate more than you'll know. While your time here was too short, your spirit will continue to live on in all of your students. I wish much love to your family, who I hope will take from you the same strength you showed us.
