It is with utmost and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Thomas Farlow Downey (Tom) in his 53rd year on December 13th at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. Tom is survived and will be deeply missed by his love Judy Baker, her daughters, Hope (Kraig), Grace and Lily Freeman, his beloved parents Harold and Anne Downey of Fisherville. Predeceased by grandparents Jean Hastings, Jesse and Florence Downey and younger brother Jeff (2019). Tom will also be missed by Judy's immediate family Keith and Cathy Baker, Brenda and Gary Lockington and Tim Baker (Rosanna) and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Tom leaves behind many friends in the Sprint Car, Go Kart and Flat Track racing circuit. Lots of friends at Dofasco where he was a Millwright for the past 22 years. Tom was a genuinely kind-hearted funny guy who absolutely loved racing, riding his motorcycle, fishing with his buddies, working on any type of race car and spending quality time with Judy planning their retirement. Cremation has taken place. All family and friends are invited to a visitation at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage, on Monday, December 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at 11 a.m. A very special thank you to all the staff at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for their compassionate care and Dr. R.
