Tom was a kind man, who found a passion for life in the theatre.
I met him when I was in high school.
He was a teacher, and a fellow worshipper of Thespis, the ancient Greeks knew how to live.
I feel privileged to have known Tom, and to have been a fellow traveller along the journey.
Basic physics teaches me that the unique energy that was his, is not gone. It has merely transformed into something new.

My first choir director at St Eugene´s school. Very sorry to hear of his passing but obviously a life well lived.

Sir Tom, you have left a huge void in theatre life but will be remembered with a SMILE. Yes, you were sometimes very blunt, but there were more positive and kind words given by you. You were so essential in helping thespians, directors, producers, stage managers, and all involved backstage in all your productions, myself included. I thank you so much for that. I will think of you whenever I hear opera. SMILE! SMILE! SMILE!
