Passed peacefully Friday, January 7, 2022 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Charlton, Hamilton in his 80th year. Cherished husband of Darlene for 56 years. Devoted father to Steve (Andrea), Erin (Paola) and Dawn (Bryce). Beloved Papa to Dominic and Sarah Mothe and to Edyn and Emma Taylor. Dear brother of Marg and Marianne (John) and brother-in-law of Roy (Eryx) and Sharlene (Nino). Tom shall be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tom's #1 priority was family. Tom was born in Niedereidisch, Romania on December 23, 1941 to German parents Thomas Mothe and Maria (nee Motz). He immigrated to Canada in December, 1951 arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax. Predeceased by his father Thomas Mothe (1944), mother Maria Bondi (1985) and step-father George Bondi (1996). Tom was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Hamilton. He was a retired employee of Ford Motor Co., OTP with 31 years' service. Tom enjoyed camping, fishing and dancing and was a die-hard Maple Leaf's fan. He was also involved with the Boy Scouts which ran out of St. Stephen's Church, Burlington. He loved to spend the summers at their trailer at Sauble Beach. Thanks to the various health teams that cared for Tom during his 3 years in hospital. Special thanks to St. Joseph's, Charlton. A private family service will be held at Smith's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Joseph Brant - Mental Health would be graciously accepted. www.smithsfh.com
