I know Tom as Father Troy of St. Anthony's Parish. Although I was very young, I remember him vividly as kind and gentle, always with a beautiful smile on his face. He was a dear friend of my parents, and we all adored him. Hoping Tom and my Dad are reunited in heaven, sharing stories and having a few laughs!

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Margaret and the Troy family on the passing of your beloved husband Tom.
Tom was someone who friends and acquaintances could count on for a pep talk or a good listening ear.
Immediately after Tom did his magic, extending to all of us, his words of wisdom and his humorous talks, we all felt betterand
he certainly knew how to tell a joke or two.and the laughing became contagious when listening to his famous stories.
Tom Loved God so much and demonstrated that love by showing his friends loyalty, kindness and love at all times.
I met and knew Tom, as he was a close friend of my late husband Lorne Howcroft
Every few weeks Tom and his Buddies met up with Lorne at Mario’s in Burlington, and sometimes closer to home, as we lived in Brampton, Ontario during that time.
Lorne enjoyed getting together with Tom and their mutual friends and always looked forward to the next lunch
Tom, I hope you know how much you meant to all of us, your friends
We will sorely miss you, but we are certain that you are resting in Heaven with the Lord and his Angelsand of course your family and friends like (Lorne) who went before you.
May you Rest In Peace!!!

Uncle Tom there is no doubt in my mind you live forever. When my dad died you and Tommy Millsop became second fathers to me. Father Tom you have a beautiful family and with the grace of god I'm sure they will feel your energy with them during their time on this light beam. You were blessed to have aunt Marg to establish your legacy and your wonderful daughters and beautiful grand daughters will continue the gift of inspiration. I will never forget you and I know that feeling is instilled in the infinite.

My condolences to his family. I knew him from his early days at St. Anthony’s. Wherever he went his presence made dark days brighter, his actions made one’s load lighter, and his compassion and humanity was always present. Tom Troy will be missed and those whose lives that he touched will never forget.

Such a sad loss of a good man, a wonderful father and a devoted husband. Our heartfelt sympathies to the family.

Tom was well known and liked in our neighbourhood. An extraordinary raconteur, smart, interesting and he loved people. Time spent with Tom was always a positive experience.

Some succeed by what they know, some by what they do and some, like Tom, by what they were; a true gentleman and a gentle man.

I have nothing but warm memories of my Uncle Tom. Am proud that my middle name derives from this beautiful individual and soul. They say we die twice. Once when our body dies and the second, when our name is last whispered from another's lips. Am confident that Uncle Tom's memories and legend will live on, as he touched so many lives. He will certainly be missed here, but am sure my Mother (Mary-Lou) is overjoyed to have him with her...rest in eternal peace Uncle Tom.

We are saddened to hear of Tom's passing. He was a kind and loving person. As Father Troy, he married us fifty one years ago today. I am happy that he continued his life helping others, and had a loving family of his own. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends. RIP, Angelo and Melody Federico.

What a full life for a true gentleman. I worked with Tom at Stelco for many years and can attest to the kindness and decency already expressed by many others. But I also remember a man full of humour whose stories about the foibles of human beings usually centred upon himself. Rest well, my friend.

Many of us gals in the St Anthony’s CYO had a crush on Father Troy. Not just handsome and charismatic, but a sincere and caring soul. No matter who, what or why - he had a way of making you feel safe and special. Fortunate to have met up with him a few years ago, and though it had been decades, he still had the twinkle in his eyes, remembered my name and those of my family too. And with a warm hug he still made me feel special. There are those who make the world a better place - and he is truly one of them, but way up on top of the list.
Condolences to the family for your loss. May good memories help you cope and heal.

My deepest condolences on behalf of the Peroni family. We have the fondest and most cherished memories of Father Troy from St. Anthony's church. Although I was very young when he left, I recall vividly how he made every child feel special, taking the time to be playful, loving and kind! Through the years we continued to reminisce how wonderful he was towards our Italian-Canadian immigrant community. What a blessing it is to have known him. He will always be a Saint to us! Forever remembered, forever loved. May he Rest In Peace.

It was my great privilege to have known Tom during my years at Stelco. Tom was my supervisor but soon became my friend. He was one of the kindest, most sincere, and trustworthy people I have ever known. We often spent time just talking about life and I could see that his former training and experience as a priest greatly influenced how he interacted with people and made them feel that he truly cared about them. May you find great consolation knowing that he touched so many lives in a wonderful way. Rest in peace old friend.

I knew Tom Troy as Father Troy at Blessed Sacrament. I passed my latin prayers test with him and became an altar boy before Vatican 2. He was a family friend of my Mom and would drop by the house on 28th St when he was in the seminary. I remember he brought my Mom a copy of The Greatest Story Ever Told. I remember being surprised when he dropped out of the priesthood. I was working at St Joe's when he met his future wife. When I worked at Stelco I would see him at the head office on Wilcox.
Glad to see he had a good, long, and rewarding life. He touched a lot of people with his attention and kindness. He will be missed. RIP. A life well lived.

I only remember him as Father Troy. When I was a teenager,I was on the front porch, walking down the street was Father Troy..I said "Hi Father" , he came up to the porch and we talked a bit. Then when my parents came home he asked them if he could Bless the house..I loved going to Mass when he preached..R.I.P. Father Troy..

Our prayers and condolences go to the Troy family during these difficult times. Tom’s life demonstrated a legacy of helping people throughout his life. He definitely was a gift from God to us. I was blessed to have interacted with Tom during his time at St. Anthony’s. He was such an amazing priest that all young persons in the parish looked up to Tom as a role model. He had such a nice way in dealing with immigrants at St. Anthony’s. Whenever he came to our house, my parents loved to see him. He definitely had tremendous people skills. Tom came from a wonderful family who I was fortunate to get to know. John was my teacher in grade 7 at Basilica, Bill was my hockey coach at St. Anthony’s and Linda was a friend that I met through Tom. I will miss Tom and feel very blessed to have had the opportunity in my life to have met such a great friend. May he Rest In Peace.
