Vincenzo CANNELLA Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Vincenzo in his 97th year, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, born in Racalmuto, Sicilia. Predeceased by his loving wife, Maria Domenica. He leaves behind his loving sons, Giuseppe (Nicoletta) and Gioacchino (Margaret). Proud nonno to Danielle (Joe) Tornifoglia, Evan (Lindsay), Joey (Sera), Garrett (Fiona) and Colin Cannella. Loved and adored bisnonno to Alessio, Marco, Olivia, Evelyn, Alessandro, and Wesley. Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Carmela Cannella, in-laws Gioacchino and Salvatrice Aquino, his sister and brother-in-law Angela (Giuseppe) Ruggieri and brother Salvatore Cannella. He will be sadly missed by his sister Giuseppina (predeceased Calogero Graci) and brother Benito (Luisa) Cannella, sisters-in-law Carmelina Cannella and Nicoletta (Vicente) Soriano, brothers-in-law Calogero (predeceased Antonietta), Giuseppe (Francesca) and Salvatore (Yvonne) Aquino and his many nieces and nephews in Canada, USA, Spain, Germany and in Italy. Special thank you to the staff and doctors at Extendicare for all their care, support, and kindness over the years. The visitation will take place at Bay Garden's Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton (905- 574-0405) on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Bay Garden's Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, on Wednesday June 15th, 2022, at 10 a.m. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to the Arthritis Society (arthritis.ca), in his honour. Please sign the online Book of Condolences at www.baygardens.ca

I remember Vince at the Hester St Bocci club. He didn´t come to play bocci, but he was the best story teller that I have ever met. Vincenzo, riposa in pace.

To the Cannella family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Vince was such a great man, and I am so thankful for the years I got to know him!

He would tell stories... And just loved to chat.... He loved to talk. I could never get away!!

He was so proud of his family... Sons, Grandchildren and great grandchildren.

I will miss him! And I will miss seeing Joe and Jack.... And I'll miss seeing the great grandchildren especially Alessio and Marco since I did watch them grow up! Thank you for sharing Vince with Extendicare!
