It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Vincenzo Filice in his 89th year at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton on Thursday, January 27, 2022,. Beloved husband of Carmela for over 58 years. Devoted and loving father of Mirella Bozzo (Enzo), Tiziana Greco (Enzo) and Susan Ercole (Gaetano). Cherished Nonno to Stefania, Giancarlo, Jessica, Noah, Luca and Felicia. Son of the late Francesco and Angela Filice and son-in-law of the late Michele and Gaetana Filice. Dear brother of Ida Falcone (late Giuseppe), late Domenico Filice (Carmelina), late Giuseppe Filice (late Agata), late Santo Filice (late Adelina), late Pietro Filice (late Anna), late Giovanni Filice (late Teresa), late Rosina Dodaro (late Giuseppe), late Emilia Fortino (late Michele), late Virginia Bozzo (late Francesco), late Marietta Falcone (late Pietro), late Assunta Mandalito (late Carlo) and brother-in-law of the late Ignazio Filice (Esterina), Francesco Filice (Maria), Ida Leone (Antonio), Eugenio Filice (Emilia), Giuseppe Filice (late Elodia) and Santino Filice (Cecilia). He will be sadly missed by his nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and neighbours in Canada, Italy and USA. Vincenzo was born 1933 in Cosenza, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1964 for greater opportunity. He was a kind and gentle soul with a big giving heart. Family was Vincenzo's life, he had a special place in his heart for his children and all of his grandchildren. Vincenzo was a retired employee of Stelco and a longtime member of the Donnici Social Club. He was an avid gardener who loved being in his backyard, trimming and harvesting all his fruits and vegetables, especially his fig tree.
