It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Walter Gregory Romanec on Monday, June 6, 2022 in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Joan. Proud father of Tonya (Jason Wentworth) and Michael. Cherished Papa of Logan, Mason and Liam. Walter was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Maria Romanec. Dear brother of William and Jerry. After 30 years of service with Corrections Ontario, Walter entered retirement to enjoy traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel at the funeral home on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Burial to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal would be appreciated by the family.
