William Inglis Obituary

Inglis, William "Bill" – Bill passed away suddenly leaving friends and family, and putting earthly woes behind him. A sociable fun-loving youth he with ever present brother Neil had many and varied adventures as their family moved about central and east-end Hamilton.
They were both on the same teams playing bantam level football, each earning awards while displaying commitment to effort and team-work.
Bill soon found employment at Stelwire- the former Parkdale Works plant of Stelco – where he dedicated himself to being a wire-drawer, and did so for almost twenty-five years.
A tragic mid-life accident gave Bill early retirement, but facing a new set of large challenges. These he met on a daily basis with much courage, and acceptance always displaying his natural character to persevere. Bill very much appreciated the aid he got – love from family, old work mates calling to chat about old times, or bringing home-made soup, or being taken to concerts or football games. One of those helping was high school friend Brian Durkin, who shared many laughs and sorrows with Bill yet always stayed in touch. Brian, wife Ramona, children Amy and Paul were always loved by Bill – a source of joy as he learned of their lives and families – sharing his friend's concerns and pride.
Bill was predeceased by his mother in 2002, father in 2010 and very sadly by his football team-mate, fellow adventurer and much loved older brother Neil in 2008. Bill's untimely passing has caused much sorrow in the life of his brother Kenneth. He will be very deeply missed by his sister Alison whose husband Ken and children Kenny and Jackson also share in her sadness. Neil's daughters Dana and Bailey are also mourning for their beloved Uncle Bill. Affected by the loss equally is their mother Laurie, a very dear friend who showed great character and faith in her love for a family member by keeping in contact with Bill and visiting along with his nieces.
