William Verboon Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of William (Bill) James Verboon announces his sudden passing on October 24, 2021 at the age of 62. Bill will be dearly missed by Judy Verboon (Postma), his beloved wife and partner in crime for 38 years. Cherished son of Jack and Jane (predeceased in 2017) Verboon and son-in-law to Ron and Jean Postma. Loved brother to Jerry (Lois) Verboon, Rich (Cindy) Verboon and Ben (Patti-Ann) Verboon and brother-in-law to Shirley (Simon) VandenDool, Sylvia Postma and Ted (Bernadette) Postma. Favourite uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Bill will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humour and pranks; his passion for the wind, water and the open road (windsurfing, waterskiing and motorcycling); his love for camping, travelling and spending time with Judy and his genuine care for his customers at Tower Service Station.

A private family memorial and burial will take place. Condolences may be made online at maclarkfuneralhome.com.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Bill always greeted you with that wonderful smile. He and his staff took care of my vehicles for over 30 years, we had a lot of laughs. I would call and tell him it was time for surf sailing as my vehicle needed repairs. I will miss Mr Bill's smiling face but I have so many wonderful memories. Thinking of Judy, Jack and Jerry and their families and sending my sympathy and love.

Our sincere condolences to Bill’s family, friends and the Tower Service family. Bill was so genuine in his care for our family (and our cars) and always asked about Richard following his diagnosis of Parkinson’s. His calmness, kindness honesty and sense of humour was so appreciated. He will be missed by all of us.

Knew Bill from business and also involved in his medical care years ago. Such a shock to hear about this- just asking how he was a few weeks ago---my condolences on the loss of a wonderful human being to Bill's family and friends.

Deepest condolences to Judy, Jerry and Family, Rich and Family, Ben and Family and Mr. Verboon

I’m deeply saddened to hear about Bill, I have many really good memories of the time’s that I spend with Bill in the days of our misspent youth. Multiple ski trips, canoe trips, and playing hockey together for the Hamilton Pro’s

Bill’s comedic personality and smile was contagious, he had so many great one-liners, he could always make you laugh.

Please except my deepest condolences and I pray for strength for the coming days weeks and months for everyone who loved Bill

From my first interactions with Bill as a teenager with an old car through many visits over decades, Bill established trust in his honesty and faith in his ability. It was always a pleasure to see him. He will be missed. May his family have peace.

My deepest sympathies goes out to the Verboon family. May you be surrounded by friends and family during this time of grieving. I used to work at Tower Service Station and Bill was an amazing boss. He was so funny and always pulling pranks at work. On Fridays, I would go across the street to 711 and pick up coffee crisps for the two of us to eat on our drive home. Bill would drop me off because I was on the way and I can remember countless times of us listening to music on his old iPod and doing figure 8s in the snow of the court I lived in. Bill was such a kid at heart. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers ❤

Judy and family,
My condolences on your loss of Bill.
I will miss all the days working at Tower joking around with Bill. I always appreciated all the help and knowledge he was willing to pass on. There was never a day I was unhappy to go work for Bill, it was truly a pleasure to know him. I will always think very highly of Bill as he was always willing to do anything for anyone. He taught me a lot and did a lot for me in the 3 years I knew him and he really meant a lot to me. I wish I was able to sit down and have one more coffee with him.
