Yukinori KOIKE Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of our dear Yuki at the Juravinski Hospital on August 8, 2022.Yuki was the beloved husband of Michi Kobayashi. Predeceased by his loving parents, the late Mitsugi George and Nobue Koike and his brother Leonard. Yuki will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Lorena Woods (the late Ken), his sisters-in-law Eri Koike (Len) and Betty Kobayashi (the late Fumi), his nieces Anne Kobayashi Manett (Jason), Laura Kobayashi Brown (Kyle), Christine Carter (Michael), Karen Woods and their families. His great-nephews and great-niece Mikko, Lucy, Matti and Levi were very special to him and always brought a smile to his face. Yuki is also survived by numerous aunts and cousins in Japan. Yuki will be greatly missed by his constant companion JiiWii. Yuki touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, and his firm belief in hard work, responsibility and fairness. Yuki began his teaching career in Temagami and dedicated many more years to education in the City of Hamilton. He then retired to grow vegetables on his Millgrove farm, selling fresh produce at the Ottawa St. Market and various other venues. Yuki had many passions - fishing, curling, traveling, gardening and cooking. He was a wise mentor, a loyal friend and valued family leader. His passing has left a huge gap in our lives. He will be sorely missed and forever remembered. The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff of C3 Juravinski Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care. In keeping with Yuki's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive family and friends for visitation at DODSWORTH & BROWN ANCASTER CHAPEL 378 Wilson St. E., Ancaster on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel, followed by Interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In lieu of Koden and flowers, a donation to the Juravinski Hospital or a Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated. Online condolences available at www.dbancaster.ca
Please be advised that the family have requested all guests to please wear a Mask for the visitation and service for Yuki.

Truly sorry to hear of the passing of our dear friend. It was great fun to be "market stall" helpers.
