You have always been a special person. You could always make me laugh and smile. You and I could share that bond about being those crazy people who live overseas. I will truly miss you.

The only thing that makes this easier is to reflect on the (very many) memories and appreciate how much you enriched my life. You'll always be more than my best friend. You brought me back for Raji's wedding… what else could I say about what your friendship meant to me. I am left with a hole in my heart. My sincerest condolences to the Higgins family.

My dearest Alan, I will forever remember you, our fun times, our recent dinners and most of all your infectious laugh and smile. You were truly one of a kind and a piece of me has been lost forever. RIP my dear friend.

This is so incredibly hard to do, you were my best friend in a new neighbourhood, then we drifted in different directions but never fell out. When you made your way back to Canada I didn't even recognize "the loud guy with the silly haircut" but it took no time for us to end up inseperable again. When we were kids I remember one night at my house on Braymore when your family came over and we had a great laugh when Angela made your Dad's ears wiggle. Later tho there were many nights at your basement apt, including one where I went head first into the washing machine, but that's for another forum. You were my friend in the truest sense of the word, and I was so much happier because of it. Our friendship seemed that much sweeter after losing touch for too many years and then reconnecting. Moving on and heading to Scotland was almost an easy decision for me, you really were the hardest part in leaving Canada. Always thought we'd partner up again and I'm devastated I've been denied the opportunity. You made my crazy life even crazier at times, but always better and I have to thank you for being my friend. Hope to see you when you get here.

I've read all the posts from all who loved you and while my heart hurts and tears fill my eyes each time I think of you I always end up smiling, remembering you telling one of your stories, or a high school moment where you had me laughing so hard my cheeks hurt. And from all I've read you had the same affect on everyone. Gone from this world far too soon but never, ever will you be forgotten. Till we meet again Higgie !!

Alan where do I start? We recently reconnected and were chatting on FB and not once did you mention that you were ill. The world will be a very different place without you. So many memories of the good old Brandywine days through to High School years. Lots of laughs. May you family and friends find comfort in knowing that you were always a good person and you touched the lives of many.
May God Bless you and all that are grieving the loss of you at this time. You will be kept alive through the many stories that everyone that knew you will be able to tell. You'll be deeply missed my friend.

You came from Scotland to a house across the street from mine in Scarborough all those years ago Alan. I still remember you bombing around the neighbourhood on that blue Raleigh with white tires - none of us had ever seen white tires before! So many memories of James, Kevin, Shehan, Richard, Rob, Ian, Chris, Raji, Craig, Jeff, you and I getting into all sorts of trouble in our Brandywine days. I still laugh at the memory of the two of us breaking the P.A. system at Diefenbaker when we were supposed to be answering the phones. Who knew an out-of-control superball could do so much damage? When we reconnected a few years ago and I recounted that tale, you laughed so hard you turned red. Same huge, infectious laugh I remember from our school days. We'll all miss that laugh, old chum.

Alan I have very special memories of you dating all the way back to our days at Diefenbaker. I will keep those with me forever. You were so witty, intelligent and fun. May your family find some comfort in how very fondly you will always be thought of.

You were a great friend Alan. I still remember playing with you when we were very young in the old neighbourhood. We had some fun and memorable times and for that you were a big part of my childhood. You were someone you could always get a laugh from. I'm glad I got to see you again in the last year. I'm going to miss you. Take care up there.

Alan, you were a friend to anyone who met you and we have certainly lost a truly great soul. Even when I was at your place when you were sick you still couldn't stop laughing and always humoured me about my "sky'd walk" concept. In the upcoming months as many of us as possible will get together and have drinks to celebrate your life. I know you'll be in spirit my friend.
