"Memories help us have roses in December."
We met Al and Claire many years ago on a trip to Palma Majorca. I saw a luggage tag labeled 'Haddad"and I said. to my friend Roberta Clough(Smith), " I'm probably related to them ." (a Lebanese habit...hello cousin.)
Soon we became friendly and shared a car together.
We were driving through the countryside when Al suddenly shouted, "stop the car." (I was sure we had hit something!)
He jumped out of the car and came back with a prickly pear and he was delighted. I never forgot this incident and the lovely time we spent together. Little things mean a lot.
I wish to convey my deepest sympathy and hope Claire can add this to her treasure of many memories.
"allah urhummo" Affectionately, Carole Anber

Dear Claire,
What a privilege and a pleasure it was to know Albert and you. Fortunately, we have come to know Ursula.
Sadly, when one of the veterans passes away, their family will be missed as well.
Because we believe, let us say 'until we meet again'.
Our condolences,
Susan Reed (Jack Quigg's daughter)
Jack, Joan, Maureen, Jim and Joanne.

Dear Claire,
I first met Albert and you back in the early 1970s, on my very first trip to Toronto to visit Kathy & Gerry. We lunched together at Fran's, after church, which I subsequently learned was a weekly tradition. Albert made quite an impression upon me as, the quintessential "Gentleman" - polished, friendly, polite, a man of his word, and genuine in every way. As years passed and the opportunities to see both of you were few, that very first impression of him remained constant throughout and was certainly most admirable.
It was an honour to have known him and an honour to know that he was one of our cherished Veterans. I send you and your family my sincere thanks for having shared Albert with all of us.
