ALESSANDRO MESSINA Obituary

MESSINA, ALESSANDRO VINCENZO ARTURO August 30, 1941 – August 20, 2022 After a courageous battle with cancer, Alex passed away as he had requested, at home surrounded by his family. Survived by his wife, two sons, daughter-in-law and two grandsons, along with countless other friends and family. Alex was proud to have won the Canadian cycling championship for 100 miles and to have represented Canada as a cyclist in the 1960 Olympics in Rome. He was always willing to lend a hand or an ear. He loved fixing anything he could get his hands on, watching English mysteries and having his family and friends over for a visit. He had no end of interesting stories and sense of humour which he had with him until the end. He was so very loved and will be missed by those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charities Alex himself supported: The Scott Mission or The Salvation Army. Online condolences may be made at: www.chapelridgefh.com

We just learned of Alex´s passing today. We were fortunate to have been Alex´s next door neighbors for 16 years and friends beyond that. He really was our Mr. Fixit and was always willing to give a helping hand. Alex will be missed by all those who knew him and we send our condolences to his family. Ellen and Norman Grove

Mary: it´s Gay Bosacki (now Gayle Egan). I just heard about Alex and am very sorry to hear of his passing and lengthy illness.
He was always jovial, kind and very generous. We had happy days in your/his company. Have thought of you often over the years.
