ALEXANDER CAMPBELL Former Vice-President of Sears Canada, Captain (RET) Canadian Army World War II Passed away peacefully on April 3, 2011 at his daughter and son-in-law's home with his family by his side in Brampton, Ontario. Beloved husband of Betty for 63 years. Betty and Sandy met in England during the 2nd World War and were married in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan in 1947. Loving and dedicated father of Ian (Sandra) of Stoney Creek, Ontario; Hugh (Jennifer) of Bolton and Christine (Brian) of Brampton, Ontario. A great admirer of and Papa to grandchildren Colin, Heather and Susan. Predeceased by his sister Janet (1934), brothers Captain Neil Campbell (1945) and Captain David Campbell of Oakville, Ontario in 2001. Remembered warmly by his Godson Neil Campbell of Willowdale, Ontario; by Goddaughters Beverly Ann (Bryant) Bradley of North Hatley, QC; Diana (Bryant) Colby, Westmount, QC and Lianne Mclaren of Toronto, ON. Sandy was active and involved in many organizations among which, Past Director of the Toronto Symphony; Deputy Chairman of the United Way, Vancouver, BC; Chairman of the United Way, Burnaby, BC; Past Chairman of the RCASC Officers Association; Secretary and Executive member of the Fort York Branch RCL; Editor and Publisher of the Fort York News; Member of the Retail Council of Canada; Board of Trade, Metropolitan Toronto; The Conference Board; The Royal Canadian Institute; Caledon Ski Club; The Royal Canadian Military Institute and Lambton Golf and Country Club. We wish to express our gratitude to Dad's caregivers Dr. A. Kelly, Amanda MacLennan (RN), Florence Musa (RN) and Keisha Senior (PSW) for their compassion and support. A family service has been held.
