We were saddened to learn of Alf's passing at the ripe old age of 101. We first met him and his charming wife Shirley in 1963 at Glen Ayr United Church in Scarborough and remained fast friends ever since. It was always a pleasure to meet him biking or hiking through Cedar Brook Park. He was a real gentleman and will be missed by many. John and Flo Ward and family.

Alf was a huge presence in the neighbourhood and Glen Ayr. A true gentleman who knew how to engage everyone. He will be truly missed.

Upon meeting my daughter Paloma, on his 90th birthday, uncle Alfred picked her up and swung her in the air like he was twenty. He lived a rich life surrounded by a big family who loved him. Sending love back home from the south.

Alfred was loved by so many including The Judson Family. Al;fred really "walked the walk" with his many acts of kindness and caring. An unsung hero to many, as he delivered homemade soup, date squares, in the neighbourhood, church family, Alfred ran his own delivery service, taking folks for appointments, out for dinner, We will miss your quiet smiling face. Alf was the friendliest man you could ever hope to meet. When we use to walk in the ravine with him,
he would stop to talk to anyone who passed by. We are so pleased that he stopped to pay us a visit here in Canmore a few years ago.
A pleasure to have known him. He will be missed.
