ALFRED JAMES GEORGE

Born January 3, 1923 in London, England. Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 31, 2015 following a brief illness at the age of 92. He leaves behind Lillian, his beloved wife of 71 years. Loving father of Debbie (Rick), Chris (Penny) and Vicki (Peter). Cherished grandfather of Scott (Christine), Stacie, Brian, Andrea and Mark. Proud Veteran of WWII who served in the RCAF and flew 25 missions over Germany. A special thanks to CCAC (especially Dennis and Chad), DVA, the Palliative Care unit from Mount Sinai and Dr. R. McKellar for providing such excellent care and compassion. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 904 Coxwell Ave., Toronto, ON. A reception for family and friends to follow. In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Toronto East General Hospital at 825 Coxwell Ave.

To the George family, I send my condolences. Alf was a smiling face every time I saw him. We would joke about our calls for Jury Duty. He was a friend to my father, Albert Martin, because of church and the deacon's cupboard. Alf will be greatly missed.
