Alfred Pepe Obituary

PEPE, Alfred Nicholas - Peacefully at Gateway Haven in Wiarton, Ontario on Sunday, March 8, 2009 in his 84th year. Son of the late Alfredo (Fred) and Lucy (Minicola) Pepe of Peterborough. Survived by brother Michele Pepe of Port Elgin, Mary (Pepe) Primeau of Belleville. Predeceased by sister, Matilda (Pepe) Harris (Al); sister-in-law Olga; brother-in-law Jake. Proud, and loving uncle to his nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by all. Alfred would spend weekends in Peterborough working with his parents in the family store at 519 (Elm) Hopkins Street. After WWII, he was employed for 39½ years at A.V. Roe (Orenda Division, Malton) until 1990. Alfred was a proud Union activist with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Alf was also active with DL717, DL78, past president of LL717T and Retirees Club. Alfred was an avid fisherman throughout his life. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Peterborough Branch 52. Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South, Peterborough (705-745-4612) from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009. (Parish Prayers 7:30 p.m. Thursday). Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Peterborough on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. Reverend Raymond Rick officiating. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Reception to follow in Sacred Heart Parish Hall. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
