Until We Meet Again, My Dear Friend!

MICHAEL HILL

Fred was my good friend and a member of my wedding party in 1983. We spent many years together at UofT and had many great times. Although we did lose touch over the years I still remember delivering pop on weekends and lots of fun both on and off the football field- I'll miss him. Please accept condolences from Robyn and me to the entire Albi family.

Fred was my vice-principal at Christ the King Catholic Elementary School, Mississauga, Ontario when I joined the staff in the fall of 1998. He always treated me as equal and supported all my professional decisions throughout my tenure at CTK. Other than fulfilling his responsibilities as the VP, he also found time to direct a school Christmas play and coached various school teams whenever he was available. He was so enthusiastic about basketball that we once coached a team together and he wanted to have practices every single morning at 7:30 a.m. But for obvious reason, I kindly turned down his request. After he was promoted to be a principal, Fred would tell me all the wonderful activities that he had organized at two of his schools: Cardinal Newman & St. Josephine Bakhita; experiences that students in other schools could only dream.

I will always remember Fred as a mentor, an excellent coach and most of all, a true FRIEND.

May you Rest In Peace!

Fred was my mentor of choice because he ran an inspired school-a school on the move - a lighthouse school-where a great leader taught his community that nothing was impossible.Fred was a servant leader-a great patriarch who made sure ever person in his building was loved and inspired to greatness. He provided a community where those who had challenges at home had so much to given to them at school. Only the good die young Fred - and you were so good! May God bless you and now I know there is a fantastic event planner in Heaven! To his family, thankyou for sharing such a great man with so many of us.
