ALICE IRENE JAQUITH (nee GRAINGER) Retired teacher, Durham Catholic District Board, died peacefully surrounded by her family on July 22, 2008 in Ajax, at the age of 71. Beloved wife of Paul, devoted mother to Karen MacAdam (Larry), James (Jennifer) and Michael (deceased 1978). Loving Grandmother to Jared and Leeland MacAdam, Justin, Simon, Aidan and Jonathan Jaquith. Dear sister of Margaret Stout (Gordon), Michael Grainger (Patricia), Theresa Noonan (Gerry), Father John F. Grainger, Carmel Grainger (deceased 1951), Andrew Grainger (Shelagh). Special cousin of Doreen Kehoe (Jim) and Lorraine Green (Ron). Sister-in-law of Annabelle Jaquith. Dearly loved and admired by her nieces and nephews Catherine Courneya (Joseph), Theresa Frendo - Cumbo (Christopher), Donna Guiney (Noel), John Stout (Dana), Kelly Crain (Doug), Mark Grainger, Stephen Grainger (Tamara), Debby Keating (John), David Noonan, Laurie Anderson, Larry Grainger, Trevor Grainger. Cherished by her great-nieces and nephews, Michael Courneya, Nicole Courneya, Elizabeth Guiney, Matthew Guiney, Lucas Crain, Nathan Crain, Sutton Grainger, Hannah Keating, Kate Keating, Kaelah Anderson, Connor Anderson. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Irene (Gallo) Grainger. A proud and dedicated teacher, Alice will be remembered by her many friends and teacher colleagues, former students of St. Bernadette and St. James Catholic schools, Ajax. Family and friends will be received at Accettone Funeral Home, 384 Finley Ave., Ajax, Ontario, L1S 2E3, 905-428-9090, on Thursday, July 24, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. (Prayer Vigil at 8:00 p.m). Mass of Christian Burial celebrant Father John F. Grainger - on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. in St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 21 Bayly Street East (southeast corner of Bayly Street and Harwood Ave., Ajax). Reception in St. Bernadette's Hall immediately following the Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, 355 Taunton Road East, Whitby. Donations may be made to Durham Regional Cancer Centre, 290 Simcoe St. North, Oshawa, Ontario L1G 4T5. Condolences may be forwarded to [email protected].
